A native of western Illinois farm country, Pastor Moyers was called on December 12th, 2021 by simultaneous congregation meetings at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church of Cordova and Grace Lutheran Church of Easton to be the first pastor of a newly-formed shared ministry between the congregations.  Pastor began his call with the CCAM on February 1st, 2022 after concluding his duties as the chaplain at Charleston Area Medical Center - General Hospital, in Charleston, West Virginia, where his primary chaplaincy duties included a Level I trauma center, a neuroscience ICU and stroke center, and an inpatient psychiatric unit.  In addition to his call as chaplain at General Hospital, Pastor Moyers was also serving Saint Paul's Lutheran Church of Ironton, Ohio, a one-Sunday supply invitation which turned into a wonderful three-year ministry.

Pastor holds a Bachelor of Science in Individualized Instruction (Music Education) from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, where his major instrument was French horn and where he also studied voice, singing tenor in the three choirs of the college, as well as in the Quincy Symphony Chorus and the Muddy River Opera Company.  He is a graduate of the Lexington Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and went on for further study in the sacred theologate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.  Pastor was ordained in 2011, just before his advanced study at Trinity.  While in southwest Ohio, Pastor served at Saint John's Lutheran Church of Dayton, Ohio for five years, beginning as the organist and choir director, then being appointed to serve as pastor when the congregation was in a time of crisis after the sudden resignation of the previous pastor.  During his tenure at Saint John's, Pastor Moyers established a free community meal, a clothing room, a hygiene pantry for homeless persons, a children's reading room, and provided sessions on spirituality and emotional health for persons finishing prison terms and reentering society.  In addition to community ministry, Pastor's passions include teaching church history, liturgy, and sacramental theology, as well as the theology of the Lutheran Reformation.

When not tending to the work of pastoral ministry, Pastor can be found either making music or engaged in his many outdoor activities.  He is an avid kayaker, camper, fisherman, hiker, and loves the thrill of a good zip line.  During his years living and working in West Virginia, those years being the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he maintained a Facebook blog dedicated to hiking over 100 miles in the New River Gorge National Park in southern West Virginia.  Likewise, in his previous life, Pastor sang in the First Tenor section of the West Virginia Symphony Chorus.  An enthusiastic "DIY-guy," Pastor bought a fixer-up house he will never be finished working on just outside of Cordova, Maryland, where he lives with his two rescue dogs, Omri and Olly.
